Montagne Saint Emilion
Montagne Saint Emilion is one of the four "appellations satellites " of Saint Emilion and the largest of them. It is a hilly area of the Libournais, located north of the city of Saint Emilion and produces quality wines comparable to Saint Emilion, at a lower price. The area produces mainly red and rosé wines, issued from Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet-Franc, Merlot grape prevailing. They are elegant and fruity (red fruit), with a long persistence and a good potential of aging.
They are recommended with terrines, cassoulet, porc meat, but also rouget, salmon and cheeses like Bleu, Pont L\'Evêque and Mimolette. They also match very well with chocolate desserts.
